The stairs taken to get to this entrance were a long and steep journey. But the view once we got there was incredible! If one wanted to make it a metaphor, it could even go something like, “The journey may be dark and arduous, and the ending unknown, but the outcome will be worth the effort.” That is, if one wanted to philosophical about it 😉

Look Around!
I’m on a castle theme it seems. I was surrounded by centuries old stone fortresses and the ocean and gorgeous greenery. It was pretty magnificent! Looking at this though it reminds me to remain in the moment to see what I can see and experience what I can experience at the time it happens, not just from behind a camera lens.
Look Out!
Go out to see as far as the eye can see! What’d you see, experience, feel?
This is a view of Sweden from the coast of Denmark, the closest the two countries are with a body of water between them.
Look Up!
Maybe you’re not in a castle courtyard, but you should check out the sky wherever you are, whatever the time!
Go for a ride!
Amalienborg Castle
So some water, some ice, big stinking deal, right? Just some big fat canal that she’s posting again. But this is not just another domed old building, this is one of the official residences for the royal family of Denmark, notably the winter residence. NBD, just another castle. Except this is on the harbor, overlooking the hundreds of ships going in and out on a regular basis, and it has an incredible history.
A statue in Nyhavn
On my walk around the city one day, I happened to actually see this monstrous statue outside the harbor. I must’ve passed it dozens of times before I actually saw it. I don’t know what made me stop that one time, but I got a cool shot out of it!
What do you pass everyday that you don’t notice until that one special day? Take note of it 🙂
Night Sky Line
Copenhagen once again, there may be a trend in where my mind is lately 🙂
Sunset is one of my favorite times of day. As a photographer, it has the “magic hour” when the light is as naturally perfect for photographing as it will ever be. But for me it has always been nice to wind down to a beautiful scenery, a wonderful backdrop to cap of a wonderful day.
Sweden!
This was taken on the coast of Denmark in Helsingør at the Kronborg castle. It inspired Shakespeare and was featured as Elsinore in Hamlet. This part of Denmark’s coast is a scant 4 km from Sweden, hence the placement of the castle, when these two countries were sworn enemies. I was told that if you go underwater, you can see proof of the warring factions through the mounds of cannonballs along the floor of the sea. As technology got progressively better, the cannonballs were able to go a further distance. But those that didn’t make it are still at the bottom of the ocean as small mounds of cannonballs slowly inching to the opposite coast.
Get up and play!
Soccer is a blast! I’ve loved it since I was little. But I hate running, and I’m just not a good soccer player. Regardless, I have fun watching through my camera lens! Especially when I have really nice voluntary models 🙂
